1. Look up IELTS test results Online

1.1. Look up IELTS test results online at British Council (BC)

Candidates can view their IELTS test results online and receive their original certificate (Test Report Form/TRF) 13 days after the paper-based IELTS test or 3-5 days after the computer-based IELTS test date.

Note :

British Council does not send results via text or email for security purposes.

You will receive an email with your score and log into the British Council's system to look up your IELTS score .

Step 1: Visit the website: https://ieltsregistration.britishcouncil.org/register to create an account.

Step 3: Once you have successfully logged in, click on Test & Results to look up and view your IELTS score .

1.2. Look up IELTS scores online at IDP

Similar to the British Council, you can check your scores and see your IELTS results after 13 days of taking the paper test and 3-5 days for the computer-based test. In case you take the IELTS Life Skills test, it will be after 7 days. 

Note :

Once there are points, IDP will not hesitate to send your scores directly to the registered phone number.

So don't forget to keep an eye on your phone messages after taking the IELTS test!

2.3 Instructions for the IELTS Authorization procedure

The process of conducting IELTS Authorization at British Council

If you are too busy to pick up your IELTS hard copy results, you can ask the British Council to send them directly to your home. Or or ask a loved one to assist in receiving it through Authorization. The specific steps to follow are as follows:

Step 1: Visit the following link to download the British Council IELTS Authorization Form: https://www.britishcouncil.vn/thi/ielts/ket-qua

Step 2: Fill out the Authorization Form in the Download section and make sure the signature on the application is the same as the one you signed on the Registration Form at the time of the exam.

Step 3: Scan or take a photo of the Authorization Form and email it to the following addres

Step 4: The authorized person needs to bring personal documents that match what you fill in the Power of Attorney such as ID card/ CCCD/ Passport.

The IDP also allows candidates to authorize someone else to receive their IELTS for them. Pay attention to the following steps:

Step 3: IDP will send a confirmation email from the center to which you sent the Authorization Application. The authorized person will have to bring the necessary documents such as the original ID / CCCD / Passport you used to register when taking the test to get your IELTS certificate.

3. How can I get more IELTS scores?

In case you need IELTS test results to apply to Universities, Colleges or companies, British Council and IDP can also assist you. And of course, you will have to pay a certain fee. 

3.1 Procedure for requesting additional IELTS at British Council

British Council supports sending hard copy (TRF) to organizations (Universities, Colleges, Enterprises, ...) to which candidates need to submit IELTS certificate. Therefore, you can ask them to submit any time within 2 years of the score.

The British Council does not charge for this service, however will ask you to pay a shipping fee for each copy of the results requested.

The procedure is as follows:

You will need to provide information about the institution to which you need to transfer your IELTS through
Application for additional IELTS certificate theo form chung (Application for Additional TRF).

Each additional IELTS certificate will take approximately 5 days to complete and be shipped to your requested address. In case you lose your license, you can contact the British Council for further advice and support. 

3.2 The process of requesting an additional IELTS IDP

Within 1 month from the date of release of official IELTS test results, candidates can request IDP to send up to 5 IELTS transcripts to the desired institutions.

Fees for extra results: 

Fee for extra IELTS score sheet: 200,000 VND/ Transcript 

Fee for sending IELTS results online: 100,000 VND

Note: You should contact the IDP again to make sure they have agreed to send the IELTS certificate to the institution you request.

In case you send with IELTS within the country, there will be no fee. Conversely, if sending to foreign units, IDP will charge you for shipping. In addition, if you request to send more than 5 copies, there is also an additional fee (applicable to both domestic and international).

Your IELTS score will be sent by IDP in just 2 working days. In addition, IDP states that if you lose your original IELTS, you will not be issued a new copy. Therefore, keep the original IELTS certificate carefully!

5. How long are IELTS results valid?

IELTS certificate is valid for 2 years. After 2 years, you will need to provide a new IELTS certificate to the institutions (schools, businesses,...) upon request.

6. Review of IELTS test results

6.1. Regulations of the IDP

At IDP, for the review process to be conducted, candidates need to notify IDP within 4 weeks from the date of test results or 6 weeks from the test date. After that, candidates need to go to the office of IDP to return the transcript and proceed with the procedures to pay the examination fee.

At IDP, the review fee is VND 2,310,000

Candidates can pay by bank transfer or go directly to IDP's office to submit.

6.2. British Council Regulations

Before going through the review process at the British Council, you need to prepare the IELTS Score Review Application form in advance. Then go to the office where you have registered to complete the remaining procedures as prescribed.

Note:

At British Council, the appeal fee is VND 2,160,000

Candidates can choose between two payment methods, direct or bank transfer.

The fee will be refunded if the score after the review increases from the original.

7. Can I retake IELTS?

First of all, DOL wants to clearly define that "retest" here does not have to retake the test with the amount paid previously. Exactly, if you want to take the test again, you have to register and pay the same fee as the previous test.
