1.
Where is your hometown? Is that a big city or a small place?
00:00 / 00:18s
I originally come from Ho Chi Minh city. It is located in the Southern part of Vietnam, next to other towns like Long An or Ca Mau. I don't think it is the biggest city in Vietnam but it sure is the most populated!
2.
Is there anything you dislike about your hometown?
00:00 / 00:23s
Well, I have to say I'm not a big fan of the air quality here. To be more specific, the air here is quite polluted since it is an overcrowded city. There are so many vehicles and factories in the town that it is almost impossible to get a breath of fresh air in this place.
3.
What do you like most about your hometown?
00:00 / 00:21s
I really like the personalities of the local people here. People in Ho Chi Minh city are famous for their kind - heartedness and generosity, especially to visitors and tourists. This is also the reason why so many people go to this city to live and to start their career.
4.
What is your hometown like?
00:00 / 00:21s
It's one of the biggest, most developed cities in Vietnam and is a thriving economic hub. I've been to many places in Vietnam but nowhere comes near the bustling atmosphere that this place has. I believe this is the reason why so many people are fascinated by this city.

IELTS Speaking Part 1 sample Hometown topic
Question: Talk about your hometown. You should say:
- Where is it?
- What is special about it?
- What should tourists do there?
- And explain whether it is an ideal place to live in or not.
Answer: So, let me tell you a little bit about the city where I was born and raised.
Da Nang, located on Vietnam's central coast, is one of the country's three largest cities.
When you visit here, you will be astounded by the natural beauty and kindness of our people. My city is well-known for its natural beauty. We have verdant mountains around the city in the west and a lengthy fine-sand beach in the east, giving guests lots of options for things to see and do here. Besides, I feel the cuisine would never disappoint them. Tourists may sample a variety of Vietnamese cuisines, including Hue noodle soup, Quang-style noodles, and fresh spring rolls.
Tourists may sample a variety of Vietnamese cuisines such as Hue noodle soup, Quang style noodles, fresh spring rolls with pork and salad, and so on.
Tourists visiting my city can use public buses for a city tour or rent a motorbike and travel to other sites such as the Hai Van pass, which is considered one of the world's greatest natural marvels by the Da Nang people.
My city is really an excellent alternative for people looking to settle down because real estate is now reasonably priced. Furthermore, the cost of living is cheaper than in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi. Last but not least, the residents are welcoming and helpful, and they will never hesitate to assist newcomers.
That's all I have to say about my hometown.
IELTS Speaking Part 2 sample Hometown topic
Question: Is it easy to find a place to live in your country?
Answer: No, I don't believe so. It is not difficult to locate a safe and affordable location to live in Vietnam, but locating one with appropriate infrastructure such as clean water supply and proper sanitation is as challenging as mining diamonds. Of course, persons with a good income have many more possibilities than those with low pay.
Sample IELTS Speaking Part 3 Hometown topic
In Speaking Part 1, the possibility of you being asked about your hometown or country is very high, and in Part 2 and 3 you often have to talk about culture. Speaking of these topics in your native language is already difficult, let alone English. So practice a lot of phrases on this topic.
